报告内容简介:

Advanced fibre-reinforced polymer composites are now extensively used in aerospace industry, as a result of the increasing demand for lightweighting technology. However, in the absence of through-thickness reinforcement, laminated composite materials are susceptible to interlaminar delamination damage. Under fatigue loading, delamination damage in composite and their bonded structures can rapidly grow to failure. In light of these challenges, this talk focuses on the research in to the effects of using through-the-thickness reinforcement including 3D weaving, z-pinning and nanomaterials towards improving the fatigue resistance of composites. The research further demonstrates the use of nanofillers for structural health monitoring in composites.

报告人简介:

Dr. Raj Ladani graduated with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering from RMIT University, Australia in 2012. Dr. Ladani completed his doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering at RMIT University’s Sir Lawrence Wackett Aerospace Research Centre in 2016, with a research focus on nano-reinforced multifunctional fibre composites. Dr. Ladani has since published over 17 journal articles in top quartile journals on fracture, fatigue, damage detection, and multifunctional properties of nanocomposites and fibre composites. Dr. Ladani is a co-investigator in the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Grant on “Multifunctional 3D Reinforced Composites” (2016-2019). At RMIT University, Dr. Ladani is a course co-ordinator and lecturer in the Aerospace and Aviation discipline, teaching Aerospace Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Dr. Ladani is currently visiting NUAA as part of the joint NUAA-RMIT laboratory initiative.
